The Horse BackStreet Choppers Magazine was started in 1998 by Ralph 'Hammer' Janus. After 20 years of running the most successful custom chopper motorcycle magazine in the world, Hammer decided he was ready to retire. Wanting the original mission of the magazine to stay intact, he looked at selling. Keeping his company, his right hand person, Chanel 'Mz. Debo' Flowers purchased the assets to continue The Horse BackStreet Choppers Magazine.
Chanel's vision is to continue with the original mission and concept of The Horse BackStreet Choppers Magazine under her company, while adjusting to the forever changing world of motorcycling. She decided to take a different approach to the changes and decline of the industry by starting THE HORSE BACKSTREET CHOPPERS MAGAZINE INC as non-profit corporation to keep the legacy of the magazine and the industry alive. With the non-profit as a separate organization from the magazine, a bigger impact can be made.
THE HORSE BACKSTREET CHOPPERS MAGAZINE INC purpose is to address, educate, coordinate and provide information about custom motorcycle building, the history and the industry.
THE HORSE BACKSTREET CHOPPERS MAGAZINE INC will provide education by organizing and arranging lectures, live how-to workshop demonstrations, documentation, and display shows at public and private venues as well as books, magazines, social media channels, multimedia and the corporation’s website and mobile applications to provide facts, processes, how-to instructions, statistics, directories and other related information about custom motorcycle building, the history and the motorcycle industry along with the current efforts and solutions to building custom motorcycles and continuing it’s history.
By partnering with businesses within and outside of the motorcycle industry, THE HORSE BACKSTREET CHOPPERS MAGAZINE INC will be able to accomplish it's mission. Businesses that provide sponsorship through monetary and product donations will be considered as a charitable contribution.
